Case Study: 1959 Porsche 356A Cabriolet "Gentleman's Touring" Build

When a client brings in a matching-numbers '59 Porsche 356A, the execution has to be perfect for the era.

We don't want a hot rod or a modern race replica;
we want an early 1960s SCCA European road and rally look.

Here is how we build a period-correct layout without ruining the existing faded paint:

• The Foundation: Cream Ivory roundels, laid out perfectly, but brushed by hand so the edges have that slight, authentic imperfection.
• The Accents: A thin Oxblood Red outline and matching pinstripe to tie directly into the vintage wheels.
• The Numbers: Raven Black sign-painter numbers, brushed to flow with the shape of the door. Number 59 on both doors, and offset left on the hood.
• The Finish: Hand-painted with 1-Shot enamel. No clear coat over the graphics. It’s designed to age gracefully and look like it’s been there since the early 1960s.
